Mid Wessex Singers

Welcome to Mid Wessex Singers.

Please visit our new website at https://midwessexsingers.co.uk

We are a friendly group of people who enjoy singing choral music in parts. We practise on Tuesday evenings during term time from 7.30 to 9.00 p.m in the West Street Church Hall in Somerton.

We give two major performances a year, at Christmas and in Spring.  We also provide entertainment to people in local care homes and sheltered housing.

We benefit from extremely talented musical directors who have not only challenged us, but also helped us achieve standards of performance greater than we ever dreamed.

If you would like to join us there are no auditions. Just come along one Tuesday evening or call our Chair, Steph Taylor on 01963 240794 or e-mail: midwessexsingerschoir@gmail.com.

  1. The Mid Wessex Singers were a joy to direct for the Jubilee concert in March 2012. Their boundless enthusiasm and ability to have fun learning the music and then performing it, is very infectious. Both choir and audience alike enjoy these concerts & performances and I wish them all well in their bright future.

I do like the comment from Lucy Deakin and this has prompted me to make a comment myself.
As the founder and first Musical Director I want to congratulate the Mid-Wessex singers for all that they have achieved since it was established in 1999 and the pleasure they have given to many people over the last 18 years.. May the continue to grow from strength to strength in the years to come and I wish their new Musical Director Graham Coatman all the very best. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. As Director of Music at St Michael’s Somerton I am delighted that we welcome them back year after year to perform their inspiring and enjoyable Christmas Concert, a concert which I personally always enjoy.
